    National Express Coventry Updated
National Express Coventry is at the forefront of the city's bus network, operating 164 low floor vehicles out of its central garage, Wheatley Street. The fleet comprises of a mixture of vehicles, and notably contains the most diverse fleet type out of any of the National Express West Midlands garages. Nine types of vehicles are operated in Coventry, the newest being 15 Scania Omnilinks, delivered throughout early 2009, upgrading the PrimeLines Foleshill Road corridor. Also operated is 20 Mercedes articulated buses; ten 0405GN's were introduced onto the 21, derived from the 67 route, operated by Perry Barr, and ten O530 Citaro Gs, delivered new to Coventry for improvements on the 27 route.
National Express Coventry - Former Vehicles
This collection focuses on some of the vehicles that were once operated by National Express Coventry. The most notable vehicle once used was the Metro-Cammell Weymann Metrobus, in both the Mark 1 and Mark 2 varients. The first Metrobus to arrive in Coventry was a prototype, 6832, delivered in 1978 and subsequently led to the Metrobus being used within Coventry until their final withdrawal July 2009. Some ex-Coventry vehicles have also entered preservation, some of which can be seen in its own collection. Other vehicles in this collection have either transferred onto other parts of the fleet, or been sold on for further use with other operators.
Farewell to Coventry's Metrobuses - Final Running Day
Coventry's oldest vehicle type, the MCW Metrobus, finally bowed out of service in July 2009 following thirty successful years serving the city's streets. In tribute, 3036, the oldest Metrobus at the time, duplicated four of the city's main routes in commemeration of the Metrobuses time in Coventry, and finally "pulled in", as in full tradition, by some of the drivers who had worked with the vehicles during it's time in Coventry and enthusiasts who attended the day. Also in this collection is the unofficial last running day; the Oasis concert at the Ricoh Arena saw Coventry's Metrobuses return to service for one last time, alongside other Metrobuses from other garages to assist. The last mass use of Coventry Metrobuses did not recieve much fanfare, however proves that the Metrobus remained a reliable work horse, and reliance on them has yet to be matched, equalled or bettered by any other vehicle type.
National Express West Midlands - Black Country Updated
National Express West Midlands is one of the largest bus companies in the UK, operating a modern fleet of 1,600 vehicles across a network of over five hundred urban and inter-urban bus routes. The widespread coverage of the region has led to a substantial investment into new environmentally friendly vehicles, which are steadily replacing step-entrance older vehicles that exist within the fleet. National Express West Midlands also works closely with the passenger transport executive, Network West Midlands, which has led to a series of modern upgrades to a large number of routes accross the county; bus gates, bus priority lanes and construction of new bus terminals in Halesowen, West Bromwich, Walsall, and soon to be Wolverhampton and Stourbridge. Alongside these physical changes, bus routes have been retimed and re-routed through a series of network reviews, making travel simpler.
National Express West Midlands - Former Vehicles
As National Express upgrades its fleet, vehicles that become surplus are withdrawn and sold on. This collection focuses on vehicles which have expired their time in service, and will go on to be scrapped or sold on to another operator. The majority of these vehicles are M.C.W Metrobus Mk2s, which were once the mainstream of the National Express West Midlands. Described as the "Routemaster of the West Midlands", after thirty years of dedicated service to the West Midland's streets, the final work-horse Metrobuses are to be bowed out of service, in a number of dedicated running days, amongst great fanfare and celebration. The collection also focuses on vehicles transferred to other garages, to continue their working lives serving the region's streets and making travel simpler.
National Express West Midlands - Farewell to the MCW Metrobus
This collection focuses on the final running day to celebrate thirty two years of the most recognisable bus in the West Midlands retiring it's service life. A special dedicated running day was organised to give a fitting farewell to the aged workhorses, which have operated for National Express West
midlands and it's previous guises. The three particular vehicles used for this event were the final service three; 2832, 2903 and 2988. They operate duplicate special services on Acocks Green's core routes.

    National Express - Coach
National Express coaches are at the forefront of the superbrand. Since it's foundation in 1972, the company has continued to develop it's powerful brand image, reflecting the low cost, easy access fleet which spans a nationwide network of routes. As the majority of long distance coach services are operated by National Express, the epicentre and mainstream of which originate in London, the company will take a leading role in the transport industry during the 2012 Olympic games. Subsequently, all vehicles in the fleet will have wheelchair access. Other improvements include WiFi and leather seating, and the additional seats which have been offered through the introduction of tri-axle vehicles (such as Bristol - London, which has benefitted from 99,000 extra seats per year as a result of tri-axle Caetano Levantes being introduced on this busy corridor).
    National Express - Other Vehicles
This collection takes a brief look at other vehicles within the fleet of National Express West Midlands and National Express Coventry. One feature of this collection is the training fleet, which once was dominated by Leyland Lynxs, previously a mainstream single decker within the fleet, however this has been significantly reduced and now comprise of a diverse selection of vehicles. National Express also own and operate the Hotel Hoppa service in and around London's Heathrow Airport, using brand new Enviro E200s. This collection mostly looks at vehicles which do not necessarily fit into any other collection, however are relevant and are interesting to any bus enthusiast.
    Travel deCourcey
Travel de Courcey is Coventry's largest independant operator, founded in 1972 by Mike de Courcey. Its modern, low floor fleet employ satellite tracking to ensure adherence to timetable and increase reliability. Despite retaining many ex-West Midlands Travel MCW Metrobuses in its fleet, the company continues to invest in modern, low floor vehicles to expand its operation. The company operates many school contracts, alongside its private hire and urban bus operation. Travel de Courcey also operates Coventry's Park and Ride South from the War Memorial Park into the city centre, and an extensive network of routes which reach as far as Warwickshire. The company has restored former Coventry City Corporation Daimler 239 to its original state and is currently available for private hire.
    Stagecoach In Warwickshire
Stagecoach In Warwickshire is one of the subsiduary operations of the global Stagecoach Group, operating a diverse fleet of vehicles from its Stratford, Leamington, Rugby and Nuneaton garages. However, its operational area is more far reaching than Warwickshire, as services call in to Oxfordshire, the West Midlands, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Worcestershire. Stagecoach operate a mostly easy access fleet, however some step entrance vehicles remain. Many of the routes operated by Stagecoach in Warwickshire into Coventry are high frequency; the 48 (Coventry - Leicester/Atherstone) shares the "Primeline" corridor with National Express Coventry services. This operation is often subject to continual investment, with high frequency routes and low floor easy access vehicles being the forefront of Stagecoach's commitment to improving public transport and creating an integrated transport system.
    Other Coventry Vehicles
This collection highlights the other vehicles that often visit Coventry from other operators or manufacturers for a variety of reasons. The photos in this collection are of interest but do not necessarily fit into any other collection. Given the city's central location, and industrial motor heritage, Coventry has become one of the key locations for bus dealerships and such like, such as refurbishments or overhaul work. This includes Keltruck from Scania, London Bus Refurbishments, BMC and Mercedes Benz EvoBus.
    Preserved West Midlands Vehicles
This collection focuses on the increasing amount of vehicles which are entering preservation in the West Midlands. Recently, with the high amount of the type being withdrawn within the National Express West Midlands fleet, MCW Metrobuses are often finding new homes in preservation, being restored to the various liveries they have carried throughout their working life. As the Metrobus has survived for so long, the various vehicles that will enter preservation are eagrely awaited, and will retain their individual uniqueness. Similarly, Daimler Fleetlines are also in high abundance within the preservation circle, restoring the heyday of their operation during the WMPTE years. The two main centres of preservation within the West Midlands, Aston Manor Road Transport Museum and Wythall, are home to various vehicles and are luckily on display to the public.
